FERNANDA PRATA
Choreodramaturg & Pedagogue

I am an interdisciplinary artist based in the UK and have been working in collaboration with various UK and Brazilian companies. My main collaboration has been with Punchdrunk where for over 15 years, I have worked as a performer and later as assistant director and choreographer associate for the company. Other collaborations include Protein, Jasmin Vardimon, Vincent Dance Theatre, Theatre Rites also working alongside with directors such as Tom Morris, Lucy Bailey, Josh Seymour.
As a choreodramaturg, my work transit between dance and theatre where through devising and collaboration I can develop new ways of working with movement, text and narrative.
As a pedagogue, I am interested in forming artists through an integrative approach where both disciplines theatre and dance can be utilised as a way to enhance their training. I have worked in main Dance Conservatoires and Universities in the UK and currently working as the MA Course Leader on the Dance and Creative Enterprise at Northern School of Contemporary Dance and also a Lecturer in performance, choreography and contextual studies for their BA Programme.
